This is an ideal place to come with a group. Reliable food and a modern feel means that it is a cut above normal pub dining. Very popular with locals.

Having gone to Godots over 4 times, I can honestly say its not worth going to. Having been grown up with both parents being chefs, I can honestly say that Godots food always makes me sick. The food is too rich. Not only that, I cant stand the service. Waitress ignore you, and are too busy stuffing thier face with food or are chewing gum.
Am not the only one who thinks this!
Tucked away just off the end of this trendy High street I found Godots. The Chef is a perfectionist and the atmosphere is modern and friendly with a jazz cafe twist, without being too loud to chat. A spacious bar gives an un-hurried feel, with a good selection of drinks to get the experience started. Overall a great lunch and I will be back soon.

If youre not a fan of traditional pubs then Godots is definitely the place for you. The decor inside is very modern while the outside maintains its sixteenth century origins. It can get quite busy most of the time, especially during weekends what with the nearby market, so I would suggest booking ahead. The service is wonderful, especially considering how busy it gets and you never feel as though youre waiting too long somehow they manage to keep all plates spinning at once, maintaining a smile on their face at all times. There are plenty of drinks on offer, especially the impressively varied wine list, while the food is definitely worth shouting about: a great and very nicely prepared variety of typical pub food nestled amongst some very original and excellent dishes such as the crayfish risotto. An excellent all round dining and drinking experience.
This stylish modern brassiere is contrasted against the period charm of the 16th century building. The interior is aesthetically pleasing with exposed beams next to edgy modern photography. Godots is in a great central location close to the High Street, and serve some incredible food. I had a crayfish risotto for lunch one day which was delicious. Theres also a brilliant courtyard garden that I will probably be spending most of this summer in.
