This is probably the smartest restaurant in Marlborough but it has high prices. Pictures on the walls, some comfy seating where you can chat makes it suitable for a business lunch, albeit at a price. I had lunch here with a friend from London, fairly mediocre food and too expensive for what we had, but we could talk in peace and it wasn't crowded. The management approach to complaints could be better. Can't really recomend it as it's nothing special but there's not serious competion locally as slightly upmarket eating places are rare in this part of Wiltshire. Another downside is that it is located on a steep hill, so it's not especially suited to those who are elderly or disabled. Best to park beside the common and walk down the hill rahter than up it! Would I eat here again? Probably not.
