This fairly new establishment is owned and run by local people and it has slowly been getting a reputation for good dining. It has everything you'd expect in a country pub, old worlde charm, atmosphere, decent service, great food. worth the drive from Marlborough.

We went to a service at the lovely little church in Manton and afterwards we were in need of lunch. The Outside Chance is on the High Street in this quiet, pretty little village and it was quite busy even though it was midweek. Inside there are lots of tiny rooms, wooden beams, and uneven floors – everything a traditional country pub should be. Service was a bit cold but generally everything else was good; the beers is Wadworths and there was a good selection of wines by the glass. The food is pretty good; we visited in the summer and sat outside in the little courtyard with mammoth seafood salads. I’d like to go back in winter and see what the atmosphere is when the bar is full.
