Published September 28th- 2 photos of Savernake added, courtesy of Kerry Saunders, October 9th.
On Saturday September 26th hundreds of former pupils and teachers from St. John’s School, Marlborough Grammar School and Marlborough Secondary Modern made a pilgrimage back to the old buildings before they get demolished later this year.
Each person’s experience of the schools and of the day on Saturday will have been completely unique. Marlborough People would love to hear from as many people as possible about how they found it, whether it is a few words or a few pages.
To write you will just have to register with Marlborough People, which takes a couple of minutes and costs nothing. Once you’ve done that you can either write an article, or a few comments, or comment on other people’s articles. With each article you can add up to 3 photos, or you can create a whole photo gallery by clicking on the gallery section itself. Or send your photos to marlborough@thelocalpeople.co.uk and I’ll put them on over the next week or two.
So, I’ll get the ball rolling... I had to get to a wedding in London so I ended up having literally 10 minutes in each building. I was GUTTED to have to leave having glimpsed the old photos projected up on the walls and the displays. I really wanted to stay longer to drink it all in, explore the buildings and see people I knew, but I couldn’t.
Please send your news and pictures- I forgot my camera and bought a disposable one so my pictures are rubbish!
