Over the Christmas period a friend and I went for lunch at The Lamb.
I had the fish pie which was fantastic. They didnt scrimp on the variety, quantity or quality of the fish. The mashed potato made the meal a perfect, filling winter warmer, but the rich sauce with a hint of white wine gave it a continental touch. We shared a garlic bread which was perfectly fine, but probably the least exciting part of the meal. Between that and my pie I could have gone without dinner, and believe me, that really doesnt happen often!
My friend had the pea and ham soup which came with a sturdy bread roll, and at £4 was,
...thick, filling and a meal in itself - perfect for snowy weather!
This is not just chain style gastro pub food, it has a much more individual, home cooked feel, and its well presented without being fussy.
I would certainly recommend eating at The Lamb.
