An invitation to help shape Wiltshire's future

People are being invited to have their say on a plan drawn up to ensure Wiltshire continues to be an excellent place to live, work and visit in the future.
The Wiltshire Community Plan, which aims to shape the county for the next 15 years, addresses great challenges like climate change, the lack of affordable housing, the economic crisis and intensifying global business competition.
It is important the Wiltshire Assembly, a local strategic partnership which is made up of Wiltshire Council and its partners including NHS Wiltshire and Wiltshire Police, identifies the adjustments the county needs to make to ensure it can meet these challenges.
The new Wiltshire Community Plan 2011-2026 is the first time a single strategy will be used to shape Wiltshire’s medium-term future and provide a shared direction for the county's organisations.
John Wraw, chairman of the Wiltshire Assembly, said: "We want this plan to have wide support, as the challenges we face will need the commitment and creativity of every resident if they are to be successfully tackled. Public bodies cannot do this alone. This is why it is so important that as many people as possible get involved in shaping the plan".

The consultation runs until August 20.
