Waste collection and health needs are just two of the issues to be discussed at the next Pewsey Area Board meeting on Monday.

Currently householders across Wiltshire have different waste and recycling collections depending on where they live. Wiltshire Council wants to replace these existing arrangements with a single first class service. Andy Conn, head of waste management, will give a presentation to the area board on the proposed changes and how people can take part in the consultation.

There will also be a presentation from Maggie Rae, director of public health, regarding the results of the health needs assessment carried out in the Pewsey area, including feedback on the Health Fair held on March 22nd.

Other issues on the agenda for discussion include:

*    Reducing street lighting - funding available to reduce the adverse impacts of street lighting.

*    Youth transport – funding available for projects to make youth activities more accessible to young people living in rural areas.

The board will also consider grant applications from local community groups and organisations and receive updates from partner organisations, including Wiltshire Police, NHS Wiltshire and local parish councils.

To find out more about Pewsey Area Board people can log on to www.wiltshire.gov.uk/pewseyareaboard or contact community area manager, Caroline Brailey on 01225 718609.

Everyone is invited to attend the meeting, which starts at 7pm, in Coronation Hall, The Green, East Grafton, SN8 3DB. Doors open at 6.30pm.
