New Household Recycling Centre for Marlborough

A new household recycling centre (HRC) for Marlborough is being built at the Salisbury Road Business Park.
-
.
The centre will be part of Wiltshire Council’s strategy to increase recycling in the county and reduce the council-collected rubbish that currently goes into the county’s landfill sites.
The site will be operated by local waste disposal contractor Hills Waste Solutions Ltd.
Once built people will be able to take a variety of household rubbish to the centre for recycling including paper, glass, cans, textiles, cardboard, green waste, timber, metals, electrical appliances, rubble and soil, drinks cartons and household batteries.
The site’s opening hours will be:
Winter (November 1 to March 31):
Mon to Sun: 9am to 4pm
Summer (April 1 to October 31):
Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun: 9am to 5pm
Wed, Thurs: 9am to 7pm
The new HRC is expected to recycle at least 70% of the material deposited by residents of the Marlborough area.
The opening of the new HRC site means the George Lane car park recycling site will close. The site had expanded to include plastic and cardboard until a new HRC site was opened.
The George Lane site will close six weeks after the opening of the new HRC. The remaining recycling banks for cans, paper, glass and textile banks will also be removed as these items can be recycled at the kerbside. The nearest recycling sites will be at Marlborough College and the new household recycling centre at Salisbury Road Business Park.

Hi Peter,
You're right, it's nearly finished. Wiltshire Council press office say that unfortunately they can't give us an exact date yet, but it should be this month hopefully.

ReportDoes anyone know exactly when it will open? It looks to me to be only a few weeks from completion, all the heavy equipment is in place.

ReportI will no longer need to drive to Everleigh from Marlborough. This will save fuel and reduce traffic on the roads, especially if I am not the only one doing this trip at least once a month.
Excellent News
