Christmas kids’ shows for little Marlborough People

Here’s a round-up of Christmas shows for the kids within reasonable travelling distance of Marlborough.

In nearly every case performance times vary, so please check links to individual theatres for details.

Newbury

Treasure Island at The Watermill Theatre

Until Sunday January 2nd, 2011.

“A tale of mysterious strangers, mutinous pirates and buried treasure.... Calling pirate girls and boys everywhere, heave-ho me hearties, we’re off on an action-packed, exciting, adventure!  Don't forget to throw on your pirate costume (optional!) and join in with the fun.”

Christmas tea for pirates and their adult captors attending matinees is £4.95.

Sleeping Beauty at Newbury Corn Exchange

Until January 3rd, 2011.

“Starring plenty of familiar faces from our wonderful pantos past and packed with all the usual music and mayhem this is a guaranteed festive treat for all ages.”

Swindon

The Nutcracker at Swindon Arts Centre

December 23rd, 2010- January 1st, 2011.

“This unique version of The Nutcracker captures the magic and fantasy of the well known ballet but in a musical version, including songs set to the famous Tchaikovsky’s music.”

Peter Pan at The Wyvern

Until January 9th, 2011.

“Fly away to the magical world of Neverland to experience the spectacular family pantomime, Peter Pan.”

Salisbury

Aladdin at Salisbury Playhouse

Until January 8th, 2011.

“Aladdin will be a glittering family show with loads of comedy, audience participation, song and dance – in fact it will be a genie-us of a pantomime!”

Oxford

Cinderella at the Oxford Playhouse

Until January 16th, 2011.

Rapunzel or the Magic Pig at the Creation Theatre

“We are dead chuffed that our alternative Christmas show is Rapunzel, or the Magic Pig, in the gorgeous Mirror Tent (did you know that Marlene Dietrich actually sang in our little tent?).”

Bath

Aladdin at Theatre Royal Bath

December 16th, 2010- January 23rd, 2011

“The amazing story of a boy, a lamp and a genie, Aladdin is the most popular of all recent pantomimes at the Theatre Royal Bath and returns to spread magic across the region this Christmas.”
