Auditions for "Pastiche" by Nick Hall and "Thermal Underwear" by Andrew Davies take place in the upstairs room of The Bear Hotel, 1 High Street, Marlborough, between 7.30 and 9.30pm on Thursday January 20th and 2.30 and 4.30pm on Sunday January 23rd.
People are encouraged to come along whether they would like to audition for one of the ten roles- male and female of all ages- or to volunteer their help backstage (particularly in the areas of, wardrobe, make-up, props, lighting, sound, publicity, production and front of house).
The plots of these two short, very fun plays are outlined below...
Pastiche by Nick Hall - Directed by John Williams
Medford, a young servant is setting an elegant supper table at which Sir Peter is shortly to entertain a young girl. However, Sir Peter’s wife, Lady Alexandra, unexpectedly arrives and with Medford’s help hides under the table as Sir Peter and his guest arrive. This is only the start of fantastic plotting in which Medford and Lady Alexandra, in a variety of disguises, foil Sir Peter’s plans for a quietly amorous evening.
Thermal Underwear by Andrew Davies - Directed by David Williams
Mr and Mrs Hudd are celebrating their Ruby Wedding Anniversary at Elaine & Bob's house. Relations and friends of the family are invited along to share the caviar and to toast this odd-ball couple with champagne. However a creaking floorboard and the odd behaviour of the party members makes the day most memorable - for all the wrong reasons. As the celebrations progress, the tangled web of their lives is skilfully revealed to the audience.
