In the current economic climate credit is harder to obtain and this is proving to be a problem for small businesses across the county.
The Fredericks Foundation is a charity dedicated to supporting small scale enterprise by providing loan finance where banks are unable to help. Wiltshire Council has worked with the Fredericks Foundation and GWE Business West Limited to set up a Small Business Loan Fund - Fredericks Wiltshire .
Action for Wiltshire is the Wiltshire Assembly's programme of support to tackle the effects of the recession in the county and prepare for economic recovery. It is made up of a group of organisations, including Wiltshire Council.
Alistair Cunningham, service director for economy and enterprise, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Fredericks Foundation and GWE Business West Ltd to support local businesses through the recession and access credit when they need it most.”
The Fredericks Foundation is looking for volunteers from the local business community, as well as the accounting and banking sectors, to assist with assessing loan applications. If you are interested in volunteering or becoming a partner, email enquiries@fredericksfoundation.net
