The Watermill’s current production, Moonlight and Magnolias, bursts with energy from start to “end credits”.

Writer Ron Hutchinson’s interpretation of what happened during the re-writing of the screenplay for Gone With the Wind makes for a great night out.

You really don’t need to have seen the iconic film to enjoy this play- I hadn't seen it. To some extent I feel I don’t need to see Gone With the Wind at all having seen this, but it has made me want to see it.

I often dislike farce, but in this slick, fabulous looking, excellently written, acted and directed play it absolutely works- right down to the perfectly choreographed slapping scene.

The Watermill has never produced anything that I didn’t like, but this one is in the must see category. Don’t miss it!

Moonlight and Magnolias runs at The Watermill Theatre near Newbury until Saturday June 11th.
