The Marlborough Players Present a Double Bill of Comedy with Two One-Act Plays – 'Pastiche' and 'Thermal Underwear'

In a change from the norm The Marlborough Players are presenting a double bill of comedy to entertain you this June at Marlborough Town Hall. First up is the fast-paced, witty one-act farce 'Pastiche' by Nick Hall, directed by John Williams. Medford, a rather inexperienced butler is setting an elegant supper table at which Sir Peter is shortly to entertain a young lady of rather questionable repute. When Sir Peter's wife, Lady Alexandra, unexpectedly arrives home an evening of fantastical plotting, hilarity, disguises and chaos ensues!

The second one-act play in the double bill is the lively, warm and unpredictable 'Thermal Underwear' by Andrew Davies, directed by David Williams. Mr and Mrs Hudd are celebrating their Wedding Anniversary at Elaine & Bob's house. Relations and friends of the family are invited along to share the caviar and to toast this odd-ball couple with champagne. However a creaking floorboard, a leaking pipe and the odd behaviour of the party members makes the day most memorable - for all the wrong reasons.

The cast of four in Pastiche: David Williams (Sir Peter Tanford), Gail Sinden (Lady Alexandra), Jani Loikkanen (Medford) and Nell James (Viola Vionysse) and six in 'Thermal Underwear: Lucy Bowers (Elaine), Richard Osborne (Bob), Carol Sykes (Mum), John Yates (Dad), Abi Beaumont (Shirley) and Barry Mercer (Gareth) are currently busy rehearsing for the June production.

The double bill of comedy 'Pastiche' and 'Thermal Underwear' is at 8p.m. on Thursday 9th, Friday 10th and Saturday 11th June at Marlborough Town Hall.
