Rubbish collection issue in St John's Park.

Hi all,

Our little family recently moved to a new house in St John's park. The house is lovely, neighbours are friendly, the surrounding area is beautiful, yet the council manages to spoil the fun by refusing to drive their refuse collection trucks all the way down of our road. As they said to me on the phone, the road is not "safe" and might damage their vehicles. I seriously think they do underestimate the strength of their 20 tonnes motor vehicle by quite a margin.

As a result, residents at the bottom of White Horse Road have to take our wheelie bins all the way to the top of the road, which is (a) not fun since that road is rather long and (b) not really acceptable since we are paying council taxes for a service which is clearly not being delivered.

Anyway, this issue has been reported, the council is meant to meet with Crest Nicholson at some point to discuss this matter. But I believe the more sound we make the quicker this issue will be fixed (please note  I am french, and we know a thing or two about protest), so if you live in St John's Park and have some issue with your rubbish, please get in touch with the council to make some noise.

Bonne journée.

Guillaume.
