The first public screening of a film made by Marlborough teenagers will be held as part of the AGM of arts and culture organisation We Love Marlborough on Thursday, September 22.

The movie was made back in March when forty teenagers from took a crash course in street dancing, graffiti art painting and film making as part of the Street Dance Marlborough event.
During the event, which was organised by We Love Marlborough, teenagers aged eleven to eighteen from St John's School, Marlborough College, Pewsey and beyond took over Marlborough Town Hall to learn the moves inspired by TV show Britain's Got Talent winners, Diversity, and the film Street Dance UK.
Top dancer Merville Jones taught the three-minute routine in a matter of hours, while TV director Peter Anderson lead the filming and graffiti artist Ben Tobin armed the young people with spray cans to create the a graffiti backdrop for the performance.
The event – which was fully-booked – was provided free of charge to the teenagers thanks to a grant from the Grass Roots Fund, managed by the Wiltshire and Swindon Community Foundation and support from Kennet Valley Arts Trust. Swindon Dance provided the workshop leaders.
The event culminated with a live performance of the dance routine, to Run DMC's hip hop classic It's Like That in front of parents.
The meeting will be held upstairs at The Bear Hotel in Marlborough from 6pm. The group will be presenting plans for the future including:
- plans for a new Marlborough community notice board
- a performance weekend for 15-21 year olds, Beyond Twilight
- the We Love Marlborough website and what's on guide
Anyone with an interest in arts and culture in Marlborough is invited to attend.
