Enchanting musical adventure for the whole family, The Wind In The Willows by Kenneth Grahame, currently running at The Watermill is the show to see this Christmas.

Whilst Mole, Ratty and Badger enjoy the first flushes of Spring on the riverbank Mr Toad is busy with far more exciting pursuits. Persuading his friends to join him on a travelling gypsy caravan Toad catches his first glimpse of the beloved 'Poop Poop' motor car.

Oblivious of the evil plan by the Wild Wooders to take over Toad Hall and without a care for the advice of his friends,Toad, who is played by the incredibly funny Howard Coggins reeks havoc on the countryside. Before long Toad is trapped and in trouble.

Can Mole, Ratty and Badger rescue him in time and save Toad Hall from a gang of menacing ferrets, weasels and stoats who are just a little bit scary!

Wonderful acting, and the variety of musical styles and songs which are performed to a very high standard by the cast keeps the show fast paced and holds the attention of even the very little ones.

Whilst this production is packed full of funny scenes and one liners it also retains the drama of the situation demonstrating what a skillful adaptation by Toby Hulse this is, delighting children and adults alike.

The intimate stage of this theatre lends itself perfectly to the watery and woodland world of these magical creatures and Ratty's fully functional rowing boat with a giant plastic coffee spoon as a paddle was inspired!

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon or evening out - a perfect Christmas treat.

The Wind In The Willows is running at The Watermill until Saturday 7th January.
